The ACT has become an increasingly popular exam over the past few years, providing students an important alternative to the SAT. When it comes to studying for a test as important as the ACT, some students know they do well learning in the company of their peers, finding others' questions or comments insightful or even inspiring. Other students, however, know they do not perform at their best when attempting to learn challenging academic information in a group setting. They worry about slowing the group down or holding others back because they need to work at a slower pace. Meet a Hamburg ACT Tutor: Dan V.
Dan V. was born in Montreal and lived there until he moved to the US for college. Dan hoped to one day become a professional educator, like his mother and uncle, and wanted to specialize in mathematics. After obtaining a very high ACT score, Dan was accepted at the University of Chicago. During his time in Chicago, Dan worked part-time as a tutor in the Math Lab, helping others who did not enjoy working with numbers as much as he did. After graduating, Dan obtained a master's degree in mathematics from the University of California at Los Angeles, as well as a master's degree in education. When he was offered a position as a math teacher at an international school in Hamburg, Dan excitedly packed his suitcases and happily relocated.
Dan loves any chance to work with students, and when he learned Manhattan Review had a local office in Hamburg, he contacted us about helping students prepare for the ACT and other standardized tests. Dan was quickly welcomed to the team, and his private tutoring students love his methodical and detail-oriented approach to comprehensive test mastery. When Dan isn't guiding future college students to their own ACT success, he can be found playing the violin and going to comedy clubs on the weekends with friends.
