Meet a New York TOEFL Tutor: Kaito F.
Kaito F. was born in Nagasaki, Japan and lived there for the first thirteen years of his life until his father accepted a position with a large tech company in Seattle. Kaito loved working with computers and quickly became skilled at developing his own programs. Kaito worked very hard in high school and obtained an impressive ACT score, which allowed him to attend Caltech, where he majored in computer science. During his undergrad program, he worked for five semesters as a tutor in the university's learning center, helping others master subjects that came easily to him. After graduating, Kaito went on to obtain a master's degree in computer science, as well as a TESOL certificate, from the University of California at San Diego. After graduating, he happily accepted a position with a non-profit organization focused on improving literacy through technology in underserved areas around the world.
Kaito traveled the world for more than ten years, living in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Cambodia before eventually settling in New York. While he loved his work with computers and technology, he missed helping others learn, and he knew firsthand how important being fluent in the English language could be. Kaito soon joined the team at Manhattan Review, and his students appreciate his calm demeanor and patience, as well as his clear explanations and skillful teaching methods. When Kaito isn't setting the next generation of college students up for their own successes, he can be found visiting museums with friends and trying out new street food vendors around the city.
