Meet a Vienna SAT Tutor: Alexis Q.
Alexis Q. was born in Mexico City but moved to Miami with her family as a teen. Alexis had always loved art and she dreamed of one day becoming a professional graphic designer. She worked very hard at her competitive high school, developing an impressive art portfolio in addition to running track and serving on the yearbook committee. Her hard work, combined with a very high SAT score, earned Alexis a place at Dartmouth University, where she majored in graphic design. Alexis worked in the college's learning center for four semesters, helping others master subjects that came easily to her, and she was surprised to discover how much she enjoyed helping others learn.
After graduating from Dartmouth, Alexis returned to Miami, where she taught art classes at a private high school while also working as a freelance artist. Alexis went on to obtain a master's degree in education from the University of Florida, and when her former college roommate accepted a job in Vienna, she invited Alexis to move with her. Alexis was thrilled to take part in a new adventure, and after relocating, she obtained a position teaching art at an international school. She also joined the team at Manhattan Review, and students praise her helpful memorization techniques, as well as her tips for managing time. When she isn't helping the next generation of college students master the SAT, Alexis can be found shopping at her favorite market and singing in her church's choir.
